Smoother, Faster, Fulfilling Track Time

Ever been in a Camaro held up on the front straight by a slower car – maybe a Miata?

Have you ever ridden in a Miata pushing a Corvette through all the corners?

COMSCC has a unique program that groups cars and drivers through a combination of car performance and driver ability. The result is well-balanced run groups with smooth, prompt passing and fewer “trains” of cars.

COMSCC Also Offers:

  • One on one, in-car instruction from some of the finest instructors in the Northeast
  • More quality time on track for all skill levels
  • Less congestion on track, COMSCC keeps the run-groups small
  • Plenty of time on track to develop skills making you faster and more confident regardless of racetrack.

“Learning” Run Groups

Most clubs run in 3 groups – beginner, intermediate, advanced – or by horsepower. Even with more track time, driver skill level varies in the run group. This puts highly skilled drivers and developing drivers together which results in slower lap times, ineffective passing, trains, and driver frustration.

COMSCC runs two dedicated learning run groups. In-car instruction helps drivers build skills with cars and drivers at similar capacity – no more getting dive-bombed in corners or waiting to pass the slower student car. The on-track experience integrates in-classroom time with real-time video and data evaluation of your, and others’, driving. Each driver leaves class with things to work on in-car through the next session.

The Drive of Competition

COMSCC’s 2nd day Time Trial format offers you the challenge of competition without the risk of bent metal. As your driving becomes predictable and consistent, your lap times will drop. After all, that’s why we’re on-track – to learn to drive safely and quickly.

Time Trial day starts with 2 or 3 run group sessions where solo’d drivers practice their technique, gaining those tenths of seconds they learned at the first day’s driving school.

Many COMSCC performance classes see 3-6 cars within 1 second of one another! And many COMSCC drivers are consistent winners in SCCA, NASA, AER and other full racing clubs.

After lunch, drivers are grouped by time, and released onto the track alone to put down the best three laps they can. Although other cars are on track, you’ll be 20 seconds away from the nearest car so you can concentrate on nailing your marks, from the perfect trailbrake to the apex 3 inches from the rumbles, to crossing start/finish with your personal best time.
