Event announcement:

Registration for Palmer on August 8-9 is now open!

COM Members,

As with the Thompson event, due to social distancing regulations and guidelines we will not be able to offer in-car instruction, and this event will be for COMSCC licensed drivers only. HOWEVER… We will be considering a limited number of student members who have run with COM at Palmer before. If you would like to be considered for entry, please register for the event, where you will be put on a wait list, and our Chief Instructor will reach out.  Drivers that possess recognized competition credentials with other organizations are also encouraged to register or reach out to our Chief Instructor (chiefinstructor@comscc.org) for consideration. You will not be charged for the event until you are in.

Due to the short time frame,  We anticipate this event will fill up fast, so please register early to ensure you get a spot.  This is a Time Trial event so participants will receive 2 Participation Points (see section J in the COMSCC Event and Time Trial rules).

There is going to be a LOT of track time! The first day is practice with four twenty to thirty minute sessions, or more.  The second day is a Time Trial with two twenty to thirty minute practice sessions, the Time Trial, and then open track until the checker at 5pm.  If you’ve never run a time trial with COM, you owe it to yourself to indulge in this form of competition.  Our points-based car classification system will fit your car into one of our 8 Touring classes for street cars, or one of our 6 Super classes for more modified or purebred race cars.

To ensure the health and safety of all participants and staff, and to help our venue remains open and operating, we will comply with all CDC, state, local and venue-specific requirements, and we will be limiting the event to drivers, crew, staff, and immediate family only. Unfortunately, we are sorry to report that this means we are unable to safely offer in-car student instruction at this time.  There will be no passengers of any kind. All social distancing and PPE requirements shall be enforced. For the most up to date information on the guidelines refer to this link:

Schedule Update

Schedule Update

At present, our event at Palmer on May 30-31 is still on the schedule, though registration is currently closed as we, assuming the event goes forward, may have to restructure things a bit in order to have a safe event. We are looking at options for this, but know that our first priority is to the safety of our members, functional staff, and venue partners. We will post updates as soon as possible.

Our event at Le Circuit Mont Tremblant has been postponed for the 2020 season. Since this venue is a club favorite, we can tell you that this decision was not an easy one, but given the current climate of the COVID-19 crisis, and adding in the complications of border crossings (the border is still closed to non-essential traffic at the moment), lodging, and the fact that this event takes place during weekdays when a good portion of our region may be going back to work, played into the discussion. Individuals that have registered for this event will see a full refund within the next week.
The rest of our schedule from July on remains unchanged for now.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to one of our board members or staff.

On to Thompson Speedway!

Almost half the season is already over, and next up on the COMSCC schedule is our HPDE and Time Trial at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park.

Thompson has been a racetrack since 1940, and the 1.7 mile course offers plenty of technical, challenging corners and a high speed entry onto the start finish straight. We will run open lapping and an HPDE school on Friday July 19th, and open lapping and the time trial on Saturday July 20th.

Our Thompson events are generally sold out, so make sure you sign up ASAP on the Thompson Registration Page.

c700x420

Join us for for our annual banquet preceded by a karting event on January 26th!  The karting event is a great way to get those competitive juices flowing before drinks, dinner and an awards banquet commemorating a phenomenal 2018 season.

Due to popular demand we are returning to F1 Boston, and we will be hosting a track rental in the afternoon. The banquet will follow the track rental.  It is $75 for racing and $40 for the buffet and awards banquet. There will be a cash bar as before. There are a few hotels in walking distance.

Kart drivers: The waivers and safety briefing will begin at 1pm. The rental goes from 2pm to 4pm.

The track 2 Lounge will be ours from 2pm until 8pm. Dinner will be served around 5:30pm.

You are welcome to participate in just the karting, just the banquet, or both.

We request that if you have digital photographs that you took over the 2018 season…track photos, pics in the paddock, people etc….please send them to Troy at president@comscc.org with your name and “2018 pictures” in the title. We plan to use the pictures at the banquet and will become a part of our archive.
