Annual Awards Banquet and Kart Rental 1/27/18

Post by TroyV » Mon Dec 04, 2017 9:21 pm

Seasons Greetings!! We have opened registration for the annual awards banquet on January 27, 2018. We are returning to F1 Boston, and we will be doing a track rental in the afternoon. The banquet will follow the track rental. It is 75 for racing and 40 for the buffet and awards banquet. There will be a cash bar as before. (this is not a BYOB thing) There are a few hotels in walking distance.
Kart drivers: The waivers and safety briefing will begin at 1pm. The rental goes from 2pm to 4pm.
The track 2 Lounge will be ours from 2pm until 8pm. Dinner will be served roughly around 5:30.

We request that if you have digital photographs that you took over the 2017 season...track photos, pics in the paddock, people etc....please send them to me at tv2vgt at yahoo dot com with your name and "2017 pictures" in the title. We plan to use the pictures at the banquet and will become a part of our archive.

Family members can sign up for karting, too, right? :D

Yes. There are no restrictions on who can register for Karting aside from those restrictions already imposed by F1.

We do not require Kart entrants to be COM members, but we would certainly prefer it..

Is the karting basically open track, or will there be "run groups"? To put it another way, if my wife and kid come along, is there a way we can be on track at different times so one of us can be watching the little guy?

Kudos to The Club for arranging what was a very fun banquet. It's been 10 or 12 years since I've been able to attend, and it was a far cry from watching camcorder videos of hot laps in someone's hotel room prior to snooze-fest awards.
The racing was fun, and I can't say the track was very strict about contact... I didn't watch all the races but I only saw a single penalty (*cough* Matt Daniels *cough*), which seems low for a group like ours.
Is there any chance Stephan can post the full race results (or the list of lap times) so we can see how poorly the rest of us did?
Thanks!

I'll second that request for full results.
