Their prices reflect the fact that they have a big mortgage to pay - higher than Lime Rock. Yeeeeow. As long as the BOD has a handle on it, that's all I was really checking on. If COM can get a good weekend date it may be worth it, but it sounds like the wait-and-see approach that COM is currently ...

Has COM looked into this venue yet? It was had been announced that they would have a Grand-Am Roex race there sometime in either late August or early Sept., and they are expecting to open late next year.

Ya know, it kinda pisses me off that I have to feel bad about running RA1s when I know that Hoosiers are faster at $220 a pop with a life expectancy of two events. I'd prefer that we ban all DOT race tires in ST classes and below. Think of the money we'd all save. I get more life out of track tires...

Parts to check, assuming the car is totally stock: Rear shock mounts Area of front side skirts for rust rear trailing arm bushings front control arms/ball joints/control arm bushings If all of those seem to be in decent shape the price sounds reasonable. If the car is in very good shape otherwise, a...

first track car

I was rather upset when my first track car died, though it was after I had retired it from track car duty. Of course, that was because I got T-boned when the stupid woman at the stop sign didn't see me while making a left turn and decided to go AFTER she had stopped, and "never saw me". That was abo...

GTO

From the specs, it seems to me like the easy answer is to put the 2004 GTO in SSGT and the 05-06 GTO in SSU. I'm pretty sure that the GTO that runs in T2 that was at the Runoffs was an '04 car.

In an SCCA National race in 2005 at Summit Point, a T1 Corvette spun on the pace lap between pit out and start finish (!!!). I laughed, and made sure to give him PLENTY of room when he passed me after having to start from the back.

Spring rate is determined by four things: * the diameter of the spring wire * the diameter of the spring coils * the number of coils * the modulus of rigidity of the spring material The only one of these that might conceivably change over time is the modulus of rigidity, though I've never heard of ...

No, in the Miata. There was just barely enough grip in the track where it was flat in my Miata on the 3rd session on Friday. It did involve using most of the track out curb, though.

Though I figure Raj's car has a low 1:01 in it, the downhill would not be flat.
