Re: Miata front subframe reinforcement

Folks - quick PSA... This rule proposal was from 2017. The proposal PASSED last year as follows:

Non-Factory Trim bracing or stitch welding, including strut/shock tower brace, and chassis braces (e.g. X-brace or cross-bar)
(0 point assessment)

Weld away those reinforcements!

PSA: 2018 Rules Season!

Folks - below you'll see Derek posted up all the rule change proposals that the rules committee has received throughout the year. For transparency, these are being shared with the entire membership (typically you'd need to attend the Nov/Dec BoD meetings in-person to be privy to the details). If you...

Re: Different kind of tire thread

+1 for the hakkas, if you can find/afford them

General Altimax Arctic would be my top "budget" choice. A little noisy but grip in the snow and on ice is on par with the knobby Blizzaks, at a fraction of the price.

Re: Watkins Glen: Sept 10-11, 2018 Event Info

Folks - a bit of good news and bad news. The good news... Your Board of Directors has purchased an EXTRA HOUR of track time tomorrow! The bad news... Because of this, registration and tech have both been pushed up a half hour. Registration opens tomorrow morning at 6:30am and closes at 7:30am sharp....

Folks - Bob reached out and asked me to share that as of 3:45 this afternoon Laura lost her battle, after putting up a hell of a fight. Services are tentatively planned to be in Plaistow on Wednesday night and Bob will share an update as soon as it's available. Laura - you will truly be missed by th...

Re: First track tires

You are going to have uneven wear due to lack of camber on any tire, especially with only -1 degree. Don’t let that steer your tire choice unless you consider lowest cost. This, for sure. Most guys will flip the tires on their rims roughly halfway through their life. You'll get an extra day or two ...

Re: want to rent out your trailer?

Chris - the workaround Carl suggested is a good one. This works on the Uhaul trailers as well... once you hook up to the tow vehicle crank the jack and push the tongue up as high as you can before driving the car up the ramps. If you decide to do the Uhaul route, have a couple piece of wood ready to...

Re: Clockwise at Palmer

Curious - how would folks feel about timing from CCW T2 ~apex? Not sure we're going to be able to convince Fred and Chris to move their jersey barriers to allow 90 deg entry into the pits from the front straight. Entering at CCW pit-in also creates challenges as we'd likely be sending cars from ther...

Re: Mt. Tremblant June 25-26 2018 Event Info

A few questions have arisen with regards to which gate to enter. I've uploaded a picture that should hopefully help. It is recommended that the haulers use the south entrance, and will need to cross the track (just after start/finish) to obtain paddock access. Cars and smaller trailers can use the r...
