Re: Different kind of tire thread

Pirelli Sottozero III have amazing wet and dry grip and handling feel. You don't even notice being on "winter" tires, infinitely better than the Dunlop WinterSports I used to run on the S2000 which felt soft and seriously lacked grip. But, they may not be as good in snow/ice as other winter tires. I...

It was great to see you at the track, congrats on the FTD! I loved seeing that yellow car all weekend. Even if it made me cry... We all love you and Laura, thanks for keeping her car out where we are all used to seeing it. Sorry about the clutch burnout  Thanks for the update on Kelly. It was t...

SOLD 4 225/45-17 RE71R, 5/32

I ran these at Palmer 2, all of day 1 in the pouring rain (great rain tires!) and 1 session and then the time trial on day 2. Maybe 1500 street miles on them? 5/32 tread depth remaining (full tread depth 8/32 when new). $200 OBRO, pickup in Pawtucket RI, or maybe I can get them to you if you're not ...

Re: First track tires

Palmer I did high 1:52s on a 225 width R17 NTO1. The same car on 215 width R17 RE71R did 1:54s, 2 seconds slower and wore pretty fast for 1 event. They also lost grip / overheated after 1/2 session. Interesting... I ran half-worn 235/40-17 NT01s on 17x9s first session Sunday and did a best lap of 1...

Re: First track tires

RE71Rs are great in the dry and in the rain. I was doing 2:04s in the wet on Saturday, not too shabby... NT01s are maybe a little better in the dry, but only OK in the wet and only when new. They will last longer than RE71Rs. BUT, if you run RE71R and replace them before they're too worn down you ha...

We are thinking of you, Laura. I wish I had video of the time I caught you at Thompson during practice and you got good and sideways in turn 3 and I got past. I was pretty impressed with myself, I caught Laura f'n Fleming legit! Then I found out you were on garbage tires and were still 4 (or whateve...

Dan,
You need an F250 dualie and a 28 foot enclosed trailer. Then you are a racer. Throw in a welder.
I need a race team to take care of delivering prepped car to the track, and helicoptering me in :D

First things first.
Those wheels are ATROCIOUS. Get some RPF1s on order. :)
Design boss: "Ever see a wagon wheel?" Designer: "Say no more..."
The standard wheels look better... Stockers will be my winter/snow wheels :D

Probably gonna get OZ Alleggeritas...
