Re: Aim Solo says low battery
Thanks Jeff. Does the unit charge by being plugged in with the 12v cord or is there a specific charger unit? Its been so long since I bought it I can't remember seeing a separate charging accessory. You could either charge it from the 12v cig port if you know it'll stay on, or a USB cable connected...

Re: Aim Solo says low battery
Try charging it overnight on the wall charger and see if that helps.
If not, call AiM and return it to them. They don't charge much for service. I think we paid $50 including shipping to have a new battery put into a SmartycamHD.

Re: Recommended truck to tow two car enclosed trailer
What 2 cars are you hoping to pull? What's their length and weight? To get 2 cars in a shorter trailer, you'll likely need custom tie-down points since you won't have much room to work around the car. What spares and other things do you want to bring? That'll help you understand what your payload wi...

Re: Route to VIR
I'll be towing to VIR for WRL next week, for the first time. Anyone have any route tips? We'll be leaving on a Wednesday, early morning. I've done the trip many times with a couple of different trucks. Part of the route is optimized for an overnight stay in Winchester, VA where there's a Courtyard ...

3rd for Fastrack. Scott (the owner) is a club member, and has probably set up most or all of the fast cars in the club.

In spins that point the car to the left (the wall), cars that have ABS are much more likely to have an impact.
I had a 'moment' there but without ABS was able to stay away from the wall.

It's been ages, but I think I treated them just like an RA1. 32 cold looking for 36-37 hot.

Free Miata Jackson Racing Intake stuff
We used to run these on both of our cars, so we've got lots of pieces. At least one (if not 2) of the airboxes are in good shape. I'd like them out of the garage. I'm happy to leave them in front of the garage for pick up. If I don't hear from anyone soon, into the trash they go.... https://www.drop...

Re: Do it all brake pads (Miata content)
That being said...I also prefer Carbotechs and run them on all my track cars. Don't overthink it. Put a good set of new street pads on...brake them in properly on fresh (or resurfaced) rotors and have fun! One good note there: Carbotech/Gloc pads are very rotor friendly. That means they won't do a ...

Re: Do it all brake pads (Miata content)
I'd 2nd the suggestion for Carbotech XP8/XP10 (or also Gloc G8/G10).
I used to street drive my S4 to the track, and ran carbotechs all the time and they worked well.
For my Miata now I run XP12/XP10 (front/back) or G12/G10.
The non-corrosive pad dust on those families of pads is a nice plus.

Re: What tire and wheel size for miata track car?
Spec miata size is 15x7 (205/50/15), so there are lots of wheels out there in that size. You can also get cheap hoosiers (SM7) in that size. There is a tradeoff between rolling resistance (straight line speed) and grip (corner speeds) that you should be aware of. There are a lot of folks running 15x...
