Well, watch out for the potholes on old bridge then, I had to send my car for re-alignment... :(
It's Montreal. Just watch out for potholes, generally.

Re: 93 octane available near Mt. Tremblant?

That Crevier ran out of 93 during the BMW CCA event last year. It's about 15 minutes down Montee Ryan towards highway 117 to the Petro Canada.

Reading this post, watching a race team take shape... I'm convinced I have seriously misplaced priorities.

Give'r hell, boys.

Re: Different kind of tire thread

BMW does skid school at lime rock in April. WGI in the snow seems like a better idea. Who's in?

Re: Different kind of tire thread

Went with Hakkas. First impressions in about 5 miles from the shop back to the office are "not to squishy, pretty quiet, and giving up some grip on wet pavement." We'll see what's what when winter arrives properly. Of course I picked the warmest day in a month to get winters on, but what can you do?

Re: Different kind of tire thread

Thanks all. There's a shop near my office that reps Nokian, and usually includes free seasonal change overs. They've also let me exchange tires in the first 100 miles if it wasn't working out. I'll look into the the other suggestions here and report back.

Re: Different kind of tire thread

Yeah but what happens when they lose grip 2/3 of the way through the winter? I know that's the tire they were asked to make, but it still sucks.

Different kind of tire thread

What's the consensus on winter tires? I run Nokian WRG3's on my BRZ during the winter. I like them because they do well in wet/slush as well as snow/ice, and the sidewalls are stiff enough that the handling isn't total garbage. There's a new WRG4 this year, and of course Hakkas. Any other recommenda...

Dans Autobody next to Fastrack in Peabody Ma does great work. They painted Scott’s BMW and repaired Troys car. Be worth discussing with them. Dan runs an S2000 with the club.

Re: JACKIE STEWART coaching

There's a moment in this film where Sir Jackie is talking about not surprising the car. He pushes May suddenly who is then off balance, and contrasts that with leaning into him gradually. It really helped me start to get my head around weight transfer and slowing down my inputs to be smoother.

Love this episode.

"Hmm. And not very well, I thought".

I think you probably want to add monitors to the spec list.

Re: First track tires

My MX5 is 2600-2650 lbs. Palmer I did high 1:52s on a 225 width R17 NTO1. The same car on 215 width R17 RE71R did 1:54s, 2 seconds slower and wore pretty fast for 1 event. They also lost grip / overheated after 1/2 session. If you want a better tire that will last much longer and not drop off in gr...
