Re: COM Swag?

The shirts are a carry over from last year. We have not placed a swag order in 2021, and we still have a decent amount of inventory.

Re: COM Swag?

John, We do not mail swag packages anymore, as it is far too costly and time consuming to along with no volunteers willing to do it. What we have been doing has been to offer one shirt per member, which was done at the first three events in 2020. Due to COVID we have not placed a swag order in 2021,...

Re: A new section for 1 lap video pointers?

As I reread your post... Obviously YT is the place. The club has a share drive. The same one we use to store the classing sheets. I can create a folder, but we need a NEW body to own the effort. When I say own the effort, I mean all the maintenance, managing the content, and linking in with our othe...

Re: A new section for 1 lap video pointers?

Are you asking if COM can host and manage the video? I'd rather not do that. We already have a dozen or so different paths of communication that require bandwidth/maintenance. It would better to to create a sticky here and post links to YT or Vimeo vids.

Re: 2021 Events

Hi There,

If you have earned a competition license with us in the past, it should not be an issue. You can drop a comment in your registration to that end, or if you like to arrange a lead-follow to get reacquainted.

Re: Mazda ND Transmission Fluid Recommends

I have a very un-scientific method for this. Pull the plug. If what comes out is reddish, I go with Redline D4 ATF. If what comes out is amber brown, I go with the Ford stuff.

Re: Racing Brain

Graham, that's a good one.

I think in all this time the thing I have sort of developed is spotting other driver's behavior and having an ad hoc predictive model that runs in my head calculating all of the stupid shit they are about to do.

....especially the Camrys, CRVs and RAV4s

Re: Watkins Glen 2020

Yes. This sucks. A lot. Camping there is part of experience.

I would not plan on the policy at WGI changing for the rest of their season regardless of the state guidelines. Those folks have always done their own thing.

Re: A7 vs. R1-S?

I've run them both on the #5 car. The R1S wants load. It wants a heavier car than the Hoosier of the same size. I look at in very simple terms. Car weighs above 3k...R1S. Car weighs below 3k, A7, or R1S of narrower width. Dan, for your driving style, I'd go R1S of the narrower width, assuming you ar...
