Re: Mazda ND Transmission Fluid Recommends

if you can't get the fluid from Mazda for the trans and I don't know why as I just did again a few weeks ago to do a fluid change on an other ND I would not just go with a regular 75w 90 . this last customer does 3 track days a season and the rest of the time he will drive his car pretty much year r...

Re: Mazda ND Transmission Fluid Recommends

the ND like other Miata's suffer from the same transmission shifting problem. the best fluid to use it the Mazda's long life trans fluid. people bitch about the cost but it's the proper fluid to use . the ford fluid is a good fluid synthetic fluid I use it in our MX5's. he wants a GL-4 fluid if you ...

Re: A7 vs. R1-S?

I have used both on our 9 MX5 cars weight 2505 full wet with driver lighter when the wife is driving. the R1's we only used up one set they lasted 6 events then they fell off sharply. felt like we were driving on ice once they fell off they fell off at LRP and we when from no braking for the uphill ...

Re: Thompson Turn 6

turn 6 you tend to see 2 different lines coming into it. neither line is wrong just different for reasons. the 1st line is you do the turn as a single apex the 2nd is you do two apexes. most W2W people will tend to do the double apex. and time attack people will tend to open up the corner and do a s...

Re: Thompson Turn 6

about turn 6 it's pretty much what Mick said. I tell every one of my students never ever try to get right back on track if you drop wheels off. start backing off the gas and ride it out ! the biggest mistake a driver can make is to find them self's off line or off track and try immediately to put th...

Re: Cold temp for RR on a Miata?

a few years ago I was using the Proxes on my 93 Miata depending on how cold it was I would shot for 32 hot pressures. I found 36 was to high of a pressure on my car. most of the time in the middle of the summer I would start at 21 LBS cold and I would get to the 32 I was after. in spring and fall wh...

Re: Hoosier A7 vs A7 question

an A7 is a softer compound then an R7 is the A7's heat up faster then a R7 will so for time attack where you have to get your best lap times right away ( with in the 1st few laps) the A7 would be the tire to use. an A7 will heat up faster but also over heat and fall off very quickly. a R7 will take ...
