What do I need?
You don't need a race car to have fun with COM
There are six basic requirements for attending a COM event:
- A valid drivers licence.
- A helmet that is Snell approved M2000 (SA2000 recommended) or newer. Most motorcycle helmets are Snell rated (e.g. M95, M2000).
- A minimum of long sleeves (NOT NYLON), long pants and suitable footwear.
- A car that is in good working order. That means at a minimum it must have good tires, brakes and working seatbelts.
- All open cars (convertibles) must use arm restraints. Students must provide arm restraints for their instructor.
- Participants must be 18 years or older.
Please note: If your car has been modified you may need to conform to stricter safety requirements, such as a roll bar and fire suit. Please consult the rule book to be sure your vehicle meets the rules. If you still have questions visit our forums. We have 100's of active members who would be happy to help you get started.
Still not sure you're ready? Come watch.
You're welcome to come to one of our events and watch. All of our events are free and open to the public, you'll just need to register at the front gate and sign an insurance waiver.
