Hey guys,
I wanted to find out what the policy was in regaurds to having a chip in my windshield glass. It is a very small rock chip (quarter inch in diameter max) from about 2 months ago that has zero crack or spider web associated with it. Is this something that I need to get fixed before the next event or is it not a big deal? Thanks in advance for your time!

They have inexpensive ($15) chip fix kits at most parts stores that can repair 95% of most windshield chips.

As it sits now, it is probably fine.
The stresses of track driving, however, could turn that chip into a crack, and a crack is not acceptable.
As Mark mentioned, I would try filling it or having a glass shop do it. I've never done it but understand that the repaired chip becomes almost invisible.
Safelite advertises the service, and reminds Massachusetts drivers that their insurance will cover it 100%.

I've done a bunch of chip repairs..it's very simple.If you can run a syringe...you too can fix most w/s chips... 
Done properly,they really are invisible,and it does stop further damage from happening,99% of the time. It is a very thin epoxy resin that you "inject" into the glass "wound". Follow the directions...EZ!

Okay guys, thanks for the replies! I am going to try to track this stuff down this weekend and take care of this so I am not running into any issues at the event.

Glass is now optional coverage in MA and no longer covered automatically.
