Rendezvous en Paris......
On an August morning in 1978, French filmmaker Claude Lelouch mounted a gyro stabilized camera on the front of a Ferrari GTB, and had a friend, a professional Formula 1 racer, drive at break neck speed through the heart of Paris in the early morning. The course was from Porte Duaphine, through the Louvre to the Basilica of Sacre Coeur.
No streets were closed, for LeLouch was unable to obtain a permit.
The driver completed the course in about 9 minutes, reaching speeds in excess of 140 mph in some stretches. The foot reveals him running red lights, nearly hitting pedestrians, driving the wrong way up one way streets and reducing the pigeon population of Paris!
Upon showing the film, LeLouch was arrested and the film went underground. It is a classic. Turn on the sound and enjoy. The identity of the drive was never revealed. Just imagine it is a Sunday drive with Joe Lu!
